September is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month.
At just 28 years old Lili received the shock diagnosis of stage 4 low-grade serous ovarian cancer. Like many women with ovarian cancer, her symptoms were insidious. “You get in your head that you are a hypochondriac, are you worrying too much… [you’re not!]”. It was easy for her and her doctors to dismiss the symptoms until she ended up in the ER vomiting from a bowel obstruction. A CT scan found several masses. The next day she had an 8 hour surgery that left her with a stoma bag. 4 days later the diagnosis of cancer was confirmed.
Listen to Lili bravely and articulately share her experience on the Del Dicho al Hecho podcast, episode 6, listen on Spotify (discussion in English).
