Elizabeth Holden, from the UK, has launched a range of charity greetings cards based on her art with 25% of profits going to Professor Charlie Gourley’s research into low-grade serous ovarian cancer (LGSOC) at the University of Edinburgh.
Elizabeth, who has been living with Stage III LGSOC for nine years, decided to take up watercolour painting in March 2022, mainly as a therapy to help her de-stress. She says, ‘I had been itching to take up painting for a long time. Although I would describe myself as generally ‘arty’, I had no previous experience of watercolour painting and this was something I could do in a small space and pack away easily. So the kitchen table is now my art studio!’
Having already raised £290 by raffling her paintings, Elizabeth received many requests for greetings cards and is thrilled by the support she has already received from friends who want to buy them.
If you are interested in purchasing cards to support Elizabeth’s fundraising initiative you can message her via her Facebook or Instagram, and provide your email address.
