Amy MacRae Award for Memoir: 2025 Submissions Open

The Amy Award celebrates exceptional work of memoir writing.

The International Amy MacRae Award for Memoir award was created in memory of talented writer, Amy McRae, and aims to improve the lives of women living with ovarian cancer. Amy died at age 35 from low-grade serous ovarian cancer (LGSOC).

Entries are open 16 April – 30 June 2025.

The winner will receive a prize of CAD $1,000. The winner will also be interviewed and their story published on Alison Wearing’s website and featured in the Memoir Writing Ink program.

Proceeds from the award entry and sales of The Amy Award Anthology will be donated to Amy’s Living Legacy for LGSOC research through the BC Cancer Foundation.
